Phoenix residents, don’t forget to vote! Communities work best when resident voices are heard, understood and counted, which is why we are reminding registered Phoenicians to vote in the August 2019 Special Election.

The good news is that there are no runoff candidates to consider, which means you can focus on learning about and voting on two ballot measures: an initiative pertaining to light rail, and a second initiative regarding City of Phoenix Pensions. Here’s your quick reference, courtesy of Ballotpedia:
• Proposition 105: A “no” vote stops an amendment to the city charter, allowing Phoenix to continue building the light rail system. A “yes” vote amends the city charter, halting present and future light rail construction.
• Proposition 106: A “no” vote is against requiring annual assessments of city pension debt that would limit budget growth if pensions are not 90% funded. A “yes” vote is in favor of requiring annual city pension debt assessments and limits city budget growth if pensions are not 90% funded.
