Milton Dohoney, Jr.
Milton Dohoney, Jr. is the Assistant City Manager of Phoenix, serving as its Chief Operating Officer. He provides leadership for emergency management & homeland defense, fire, police, law, convention center, major events and large economic development transactions. Prior to this, he worked for seven years as city manager of Cincinnati, Ohio and for more than three years as chief administrative officer of Lexington Fayette Urban County Government in Kentucky. He also served for 20 years with the City of Louisville, Kentucky, including as assistant community services director, chief administrative officer and public safety director. He is the recipient of many awards, including Administrator of the Year in 2013 from the American Society for Public Administration Greater Cincinnati Chapter; YMCA Black Achievers Award in 2010; and Kentucky Commission on Human Rights Spirit for Justice Medal in 2010. Dohoney has a master’s degree in personnel management/human resources from the University of Louisville and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University Southeast.
