Cover Arizona
In the realm of constructive and creative collaborations, consider the Cover Arizona Coalition. It began in April when St. Luke’s Health Initiatives convened a small steering committee facing the opportunity to achieve dramatic coverage improvements through Arizona Medicaid and Marketplace enrollment, while taking into account the prospects of a shoestring budget to successfully reach nearly 1,000,000 people statewide. Today, the coalition counts more than 600 organizational members and a website housing one of the deepest collections available of current resources for health care navigators and assisters.
While many coalition members brought existing enrollment outreach experience related to AHCCCS (Arizona’s Medicaid Program), KidsCare (Arizona’s Children’s Health Insurance Program) and PCIP (the Affordable Care Act’s Pre-existing Conditions Insurance Plan) to the table, the work being done today carries its own specific rules, regulations, conditions and methods. Recognizing that, the coalition communicates almost daily and coordinates efforts to improve access to care, bringing together all the latest information and resources in the process. Thanks to the work of the coalition, and the website at coveraz.org, there’s one place to go in Arizona for enrollment assistance professionals to find the most current answers.
