St. Luke’s Health Initiatives’ 2008 grants are:
  • Arizona Facts of Life, receiving $15,000 to engage community support services for participants in the Arizona Facts of Life program.
  • Arizona Hands and Voices, receiving $10,000 to assist in community outreach for parents whose children are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Arizona Health Facilities Authority, receiving $150,000 to support local primary care planning in medically underserved areas by providing technical assistance and a small grant program.
  • Arizona Town Hall, receiving $16,000 to fund the “Arizona Health Dialogues” project.
  • AZ Lost Boys Center, receiving $50,000 to support the development and further evolution of a culturally relevant health outreach program.
  • Cancer Workout Center, receiving $18,000 to train personal trainers and exercise instructors in working with cancer patients.
  • CASA, receiving $25,000 to fund the “The Power of One More” initiative.
  • Concilio Latino de Salud, receiving $73,000 to support the community-based “Wells of Wellness” project.
  • FIBCO Family Services, receiving $98,620 to support the development of the Village/Community Wells program.
  • Interfaith Worker Justice of Arizona, receiving $25,000 to support workers’ health and safety education.
  • Maricopa Partnership for Arts and Culture, receiving $60,000 to support a pilot arts-based intervention program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Neighbors Who Care, Inc., receiving $40,345 to develop a caregiver support program.
  • NJF Center for Caregivers, Inc., receiving $30,000 to develop an organizational sustainability plan.
  • Organization for Nonprofit Executives (ONE), receiving $10,000 to create a Nonprofit Leadership Academy.
  • Pediatric Foundation of Arizona, receiving $10,000 to implement a nutrition and physical activity mapping project.
  • Phoenix Revitalization Corporation, receiving $30,000 to support a community building process in the Central City South community.
  • PSA Behavioral Health Agency, receiving $18,000 to create and implement “The Next Step” project, a consumer-run expressive arts business.
  • Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun, Inc., receiving $30,000 to implement senior fall prevention services.
  • Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, receiving $10,000 to purchase specialized audio players for low-income, visually impaired individuals.
  • Rehoboth CDC, receiving $50,000 to fund community development in the Canyon Corridor neighborhood.
  • Templo Maranatha/Maranatha Daycare Center, receiving $10,000 to cover city permit fee costs and two ventilation systems.
  • Valle del Sol, receiving $30,000 to conduct an assessment of attitudes and beliefs in the Hispanic/Latino community with regard to advanced care directives.
  • VisionQuest 20/20, receiving $35,000 to develop a road map of universal vision screenings for Arizona’s children.
  • Wesley Community Center, receiving $35,000 to promote health safety in three West Phoenix neighborhoods.
