It’s Worth a Shot
Maricopa County experienced its first case of the mumps in “forever” in February. The circumstance of one family opting their child out of recommended vaccinations kept 35 other children who also weren’t fully vaccinated out of school for a month and nearly triggered a contagious disease outbreak.
The 3.7 percent of Arizona children currently holding personal vaccination exemptions represent a ticking time bomb of personal and public health risks. On September 26, Maricopa County Department of Public Health Director Dr. Bob England will be on hand for Public Health and Vaccination Opt-Outs: How Should We Respond?, an Arizona Bioethics Network EthicsTalk webinar that no clinician, ethicist or public health official should miss. Spots are limited. Register today.
