On the Case for Action
Arizonans have articulated the healthier, more robust future they want. All that remains is to continue creating the change that propels us there, and there are two must-read reports that get you up to speed. Just last year, The Arizona We Want 2.0 was released as an update of the Center for the Future of Arizona’s seminal 2009 release titled The Arizona We Want.
Thanks to the leadership of Dr. Lattie Coor, Arizona got its first look in 2009 at what citizens think about life in AZ communities, what they want for the future, and how we could work together to achieve this common set of goals based on the Gallup Arizona Poll. By 2013, The Arizona We Want 2.0 had incorporated the Arizona Civic Health Index and provided an update on what has been accomplished toward the goals that citizens said they wanted.
Throughout both reports healthcare was a key area of focus, and the message from citizens was clear: the fibers of a healthy state need to include activities that improve well-being, enhance social cohesion, and promote civic engagement. St. Luke’s Health Initiatives is dedicating not just funding, but senior staff to the task of driving change to achieve the reports’ goals.
It goes without saying: a report alone doesn’t get things done. People do. Working together, with vision, focus and purpose. Engage with the work of The Arizona We Want Institute today. Read the report, stay connected, and prepare to join us on the case for action.
