Arizona’s healthcare heroes have a very clear message for us all, and you can hear it directly from them: we must slow the spread of COVID-19.  

Healthcare systems – and the people who are crucial to making them work – are already at heartbreaking levels of stress and strain. Far too many Arizonans are dying alone, without family. Frontline workers are overwhelmed by the surge of sickness and death.   

Here’s what we need to do to honor our frontline healthcare heroes: stay home as much as we can, mask up when we can’t, shrink our circles of contact, do not gather in large groups, and continue washing up regularly. This virus has always been easily and unknowingly spread by people who do not know they have it. According to our  latest COVID-19 Roundtable discussion about what things look like as of January 18, there are far more people in Arizona doing that right now than ever before.
