The Arizona We Want: Primary Elections
Only 28% of registered Arizona voters participated in the 2012 primary election. Just about half of our voting-eligible population participated in the 2012 general election. With numbers like these, no one should be surprised that only 10% of Arizonans believe their elected officials represent them.
Low turnout isn’t just a matter of politics, it’s also a reflection of low civic participation and engagement – and both are key to community health and well-being.
Elected leaders drive the state’s agenda and are intended to fairly represent Arizona’s people, yet reports like The Arizona We Want continue to reveal that people don’t feel that they do. The only way to change that is to VOTE. Click here for 2014 election information courtesy of The Arizona We Want Institute.
