Only 28% of registered Arizona voters participated in the 2012 primary election. Just about half of our voting-eligible population participated in the 2012 general election. With numbers like these, no one should be surprised that only 10% of Arizonans believe their elected officials represent them.

Low turnout isn’t just a matter of politics, it’s also a reflection of low civic participation and engagement – and both are key to community health and well-being.
