Vitalyst Legislative Update
The week of March 21 to March 25, 2022 is the last week legislative bills can be heard in the Arizona Legislature. Here are some of the bills we are monitoring as they move forward and Vitalyst positions:
Current Bills Vitalyst Supports
Arizona Senate Bill 1272 – Vitalyst supports SB 1272. If signed into law, this would extend AHCCCS postpartum coverage from 60 days to a full year after pregnancy for roughly 3000 Arizonans each year.
Arizona House Bill 2551 – Vitalyst supports HB 2551. If signed into law, this would extend access to coverage for children in working families.
Arizona House Bill 2060 – Vitalyst supports HB 2060. Set for Senate Health Committee on March 23. If signed into law, this would remove obstacles that currently prohibit Arizonans with prior drug felonies from accessing SNAP benefits.
Senate Bill 1210 – Vitalyst supports SB 1210. Set to be heard by the House Health Committee on March 21. If signed into law, this would remove the requirement for a law enforcement officer to be present during mental health crisis calls.
Current Bills Vitalyst Opposes
House Bill 2086 – Vitalyst opposes HB 2086 – Set to be heard by the Senate Health Committee on March 23. If signed into law, this would prevent the Arizona Department of Health Services from adding the COVID-19 vaccine to list of school-based vaccination requirements.
