Topic: Leadership Sustainability and Succession Planning for our Future
Description: Did you know that the nonprofit sector is facing a very real leadership crisis? As seasoned nonprofit professionals prepare for the next phase of their career, there is a growing gap in the number of nonprofit professionals who are ready to effectively lead nonprofits. The future effectiveness of nonprofits depends on how well we prepare future leaders, now. This CAN Forum explored the impact of the current and future leadership gaps in our sector. Ways to collectively address this challenge to our sustainability in this highly interactive session were identified.

Framing Questions: What would it take to have a “ready now” leader available for every nonprofit leadership vacancy? What role could partners, funders, others outside the sector play in reaching this aspirational goal?

Topic: Community Benefits and Nonprofit Partnerships
Description: Participants came to learn more about how the Community Benefits provision in the Affordable Care Act and to inform nonprofit hospitals on how they can work with nonprofits to meet that requirement.
